As a long time Maserati Ghibli enthusiast I have always been curious about its closest competitor, the Ferrari Daytona. I finally took the plunge and must say that up to now I really like the car. This particular Daytona was built in December of 1971 and is a USA spec car. My requirements for a Daytona was that it could not be bright red (too many red Daytonas exist) and the interior could not be black as it does not show the contrasting "Daytona seats".
This car met all my needs as the fly yellow color works on these cars and the tan interior shows well with the contrasting black highlights. The car only has 31K original miles and most of the interior and trunk area are still the original material. One area that the Daytona is often criticised is its heavy steering at slow speeds, for example when parking the car. This car had power steering added using an electric pump which can be turned off with a toggle switch. The power steering makes the car much more enjoyable to drive.
