This is the last serial number Vignale spyder produced and makes the perfect pair to Vignale spyder #504, which was the first.
As can be seen on the photos the car will need a complete restoration which I hope to have done during 2012.
The factory specifications on this car are rather interesting:
- Original colors: Black with red interior (I like that color combo) - 5-speed (that is expected on a late car) - all disc brakes (also expected on a late car) - wire wheels (nice option) - 15” wheels instead of 16” (better choice of tires although the 16" probably fill the wheel well better). I may lower the car a bit to compensate. - hard top (another nice option)
and now for the BIG surprise ... special ordered with Webers! Starting in 1961 Maserati switched from Weber carburetors to Lucas fuel injection. On rare occasions a car was special ordered with Webers. These days Webers are considered more desirable and less problematic. Specs have been confirmed by the Factory (Fabio Collina).
This car is NOT for sale
